Transition to the VLP

Students can transfer to the VLP beginning February 1, 2022, and concluding February 14, 2022. Secondary transfers are contingent upon VLP course offerings. Elementary transfers are restricted to class size limits. If you have additional questions begin with your current school counselor. 

To initiate the transfer process, elementary families should email Secondary students should start by talking to their school counselor.

APS is adhering to the previously stated timeframes for shifts from in-person school to the Virtual Learning Program. Changes from in-person school to the Virtual Learning Program can occur at the start of the 2nd, 3rd or 4th quarter at the elementary level, or at the start of the 2nd semester at the middle and high school level. Families will be able to request to change during a selection window prior to those quarterly and semester timeframes.

Families of students currently enrolled in in-person learning who have extenuating medical or health conditions may request an exception to the transition timelines at any time by sending an email to describing their rationale for needing to transition from in-person instruction to the VLP.  Only appeals based on medical or health conditions will be considered and families will need to provide documentation from a healthcare professional with their appeal.
