School Day: 8:19 am – 3:01 pm
High school students will be taught by APS teachers and outside course providers, such as Virtual Virginia and Edmentum, to broaden online learning opportunities for students. Instruction time will meet all VDOE graduation requirements. Special education case carriers in the VLP will ensure accommodations are being provided for students with IEP’s. Students with 504 plans will also receive the accommodations documented in their plans. Specialized instruction for English Learners will be provided, as required. Students will receive weekly Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons, Office hours with counselors, social workers and psychologists will be available by appointment. Students who are identified as gifted will receive gifted services from their classroom teacher. There is not a RTG for the VLP. VLP teachers will have opportunities to join collaborative learning team grade level meetings for support in planning and differentiating their instruction.
